Mitchell recycling game
This group is trying to recycle in a fun way so that little kids can get interested. They are using the games like basketball, a hunt, form a tower and knocking down bottles.  These games will be played during Field Days.

Research for what to recycle
This group is researching for what to recycle and what to throw away. They are making a chart and displaying it next to the blue bin to remind people of what to put in or to not put in.

The art group
This group is making art activities for little kids involving lessons that you can reuse to make art. The little kids will make art using recyclables during Field Days.

The global warming group
This group is making a PowerPoint with pictures to describe global warming. They are also showing how to stop global warming to let people know why we should recycle.

The group learning out boys (rap)
The song that this group is making is about the earth. They got most of their ideas from the streets because they see so much pollution or garbage not in the trash can.

The green and clean
This group is going around the community picking up trash putting the recyclables in a recycle bin and trash in garbage. “We’re helping out for one day but we hope that everyone does it every day” says Romario R. from the group. On June 2 this group did the green and clean by using the entire seventh grade to clean and to green. Half of the group was to pick up trash around the school and then determine if it was recyclable or not. The other half of the group was the greening group. This group planted many flowers in the garden to be more environmentally involved.

Pamphlet: Mitchell is going green
This group is doing a pamphlet or flyer about ways to recycle. They will pass out pamphlets to students and others.

Solar power
Alex C. is writing a report of natural resources of how our school can be more environmentally friendly. He also wrote about how the public can use better transportation, like instead of using cars you could ride your bicycle or walk, etc. He got most of his information from the internet. He thinks this topic is the most important because he wants to find out how the school can use nature/natural resources

What is the school doing to help?
The school has given each classroom, Pre-k to Eighth grade, a recycle blue bin. All classes are recycling to go green. Seventh graders are the ones that are in charge of most of the recycling in our school. The school also made a garden to be more environmentally involved.
